Thad West

CEO

Isos Technology

Location: Tempe, AZ

Founded: 2005

Industry: Technical Consulting

After stints in the corporate technology world that either required too much travel or did not involve enough challenge and innovation, Thad West set out to start his own business, one that would allow a balance between innovative work and family life.

He co-founded Isos Technology in 2005 with two colleagues. As the business grew, the company remained committed to helping employees find a work/life balance. Nearly all of the company’s employees worked from home or in remote offices long before the COVID-19 pandemic fast-tracked that trend.

“While Isos Technology has grown exponentially, they remain a small company at heart and continue to help large companies solve their business challenges with leading-edge, innovative solutions — and Thad’s commitment to using technology to help himself and his growing team balance work and life remains at the heart of it all,” the company said.

Isos Technology helps hundreds of organizations in both the private and public sectors get the most value out of their technology investment. Headquartered in Tempe, and with offices across the U.S., Isos Technology has been recognized as an Atlassian Partner of the Year in both the ITSM and Enterprise categories, an Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Company, and a CIOReview Most Promising Agile Consulting Company.

Under West’s leadership, Isos Technology has achieved Atlassian Platinum Solution Partner status with specializations in Enterprise and Agile at Scale. The Platinum designation is reserved for companies that meet the highest training criteria and have a proven practice that can scale from small to large customers.

Over the next five years, Isos Technology aims to grow 50% each year toward a $70 million organization. “More than 200,000 organizations rely on Atlassian to get work done, including 83% of Fortune 500 companies. Isos will leverage its position as a premium Atlassian partner, its existing enterprise relationships and the growing adoption of Atlassian to realize its five-year vision,” the company said.

Isos Technology participates in Pledge 1%, which provides a framework for companies to donate 1% of their equity, time, product or profit to the philanthropic organization of their choice. Every Isos employee is empowered to choose the organization that matters most to them and contribute 1% of their time to it.

“What is important to our employees is important to us,” West said. “Through Pledge 1%, anyone in the organization can share what’s near and dear to them and rally the team to collectively move the needle on a passion project. While a charitable organization gets much-needed support, the real reward for us here at Isos is the camaraderie we build by working together for the greater good.”

Did you know?

Thad West is the youngest of 10 siblings—five boys and five girls! Growing up in a large family, he saw the value of teamwork early on, and it’s a lesson he’s carried forward with him as he built Isos Technology.“When you grow up in a large family, you learn that everyone has different strengths and different skills to offer. I learned how important it is to know your own strengths, as well as others’, so you can make the most of them. I also learned that it’s okay to admit when you don’t know how to do something and ask for help,” said Thad.West was also a ball boy for the inaugural season of the Arizona Cardinals (then the Phoenix Cardinals) football team in 1988.“I worked at the summer training camp and at every home game, and I even traveled to one away game in Kansas City. Being around professional coaches and athletes and seeing that level of teamwork in action continues to inspire me,” said Thad.
