Lindsay Gross

Chief Operating Officer

nimble solutions

Location: Chesterfield, MO

Founded: 2003

Industry: Medical Billing/Revenue Cycle

Lindsay Gross started at nimble solutions in an entry-level role in the accounts receivable department shortly after the company was founded in 2003. She has worked her way up since then, all the way to chief operating officer.

“Within my first year at the company, leadership was looking for an internal controller, so I stepped up and fulfilled that role,” Gross said. “As nimble solutions continued to grow, there were always more opportunities to learn, more responsibilities to take on. Many times, I was tasked with leading more than one department and managing multiple aspects of the company to develop the necessary operational infrastructure from the ground up.”

Founded in 2003, nimble solutions provides revenue cycle outsourcing services to ambulatory surgery centers, physician practices and anesthesia groups nationwide. The company is headquartered in Chesterfield and has added other Missouri offices in Cuba and Osage Beach. It recently acquired four revenue cycle companies, allowing additional offerings to surgical clients mdStrategies in Texas, National Billing Partners located in Texas, Medi-Corp in New Jersey and MedTek in California.

At age 21, Gross was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and tasked with learning how to manage the disease while she also worked to build her accounting skills for her role at National Medical. As she climbed the ranks at the company, she continued to add to her skill set, improving efficiencies in billing and collection, moving up to vice president of operations, then executive vice president of operations, and in 2021, when the company entered a private equity partnership with Aquiline Capital Partners, she was named COO.

“Her creative, entrepreneurial spirit helped us build every aspect of nimble solutions, and she quickly became the go-to expert on all aspects of revenue cycle management,” the company said.

Gross also hosts a monthly internal podcast called “Coffee Talk” for nimble solutions employees, interviewing department leaders to introduce them to the rest of the staff. She also created a weekly virtual breakout room for nimble solutions team members to talk with leadership and helped plan the company’s first leadership summit in the fall of 2022.

Gross coordinated with nimble solutions’ president, Lisa Rock, to design the company’s Unplugged program, giving employees additional paid time off to boost mental health and engagement. Over a year later, the Unplugged program has helped reduce burnout, improve productivity and enhance corporate culture, the company said.

Gross has written articles for trade publications, such as Becker’s ASC Review and ASC Focus. She and her husband have contributed to local organizations annually, including nimble solutions’ Employee Assistance Fund, The Little Bit Foundation, St. Louis Crisis Nursery, St. Louis Foster and Adoption Care Coalition, BackStoppers, the Ladue Fire and Police Departments, the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry, the National Council of Jewish Women Resale Shop and Purdue University.
