DeAnn Golden’s entrepreneurial story is one of steady progression and a commitment to helping others succeed. Golden joined Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties in 2004 and is a second-generation, 28-year real estate veteran with vast leadership, training, coaching and marketing experience. “She didn’t start at the top, but with her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for real estate, she steadfastly worked her way up in the company,” said her staff. “Before assuming her current role as president and CEO, DeAnn held several key positions within the company, starting in the role of receptionist.”
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties is a full-service real estate brokerage company offering residential, commercial and property management services. With over $4.8 billion in sales in 2022, 28 office locations and more than 1,500 sales associates, the company continues to expand its footprint in the Atlanta Metro market, including North Georgia Mountain and Lakes and the Southern Crescent.
Under Golden’s leadership, the company has continued to thrive with an impressive $4.8 billion in sales in 2022. Her leadership propels the company forward with the Moving Forward Together initiative, a success plan that encompasses key initiatives, including open communication, focus on the Forever Agent, customer enhanced marketing and technology, charitable ventures, diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and a service-oriented culture.
These initiatives led to Golden’s appointment to president of the Atlanta Realtors Association in 2019 and an appointment by Governor Brian Kemp to the Georgia Real Estate Commission for a five-year term.
“DeAnn Golden’s entrepreneurial journey, from a dedicated sales associate to the president and CEO of a real estate industry leader, is a remarkable story of perseverance, innovation and a passion for helping others succeed,” said her colleagues. “Her dedication to excellence and communication to the real estate sector continue to drive her and her company’s success.”
If Golden were to offer advice to her younger self, she would stress the importance of embracing humble beginnings. “It’s crucial to value early experiences as essential steppingstones for learning and personal growth, and to appreciate the many people who helped me along the way,” she said. “I would advise my younger self to focus on nurturing connections and comprehend the significance of trust and integrity in business relationships.”
Throughout her career, Golden said she has adopted the mantra of Whatever It Takes (W.I.T.). “Whether at the highest level by helping our team aspire to new levels, to navigating complex issues and making tough decisions, or being there to listen to someone going through challenges and in need of help. It also means not walking past a problem no matter how small it might seem, but if it can create a better environment and experience for others, I am determined to fix it and keep us moving forward together,” she said.
