Vincent Cordo

Chief Client Relations and Opportunities Officer

Holland & Knight, LLP

Location: Tampa, Florida

Founded: 1968

Industry: Legal

For more than two decades, Vincent Cordo has worked both in-house, and on the law firm side, providing strategic business transformation and process excellence with outside counsel programs, legal operations and client value pricing.

His experience ranges from working with top 50 global law firms, leading D&I initiatives and leading a legal outside counsel restructuring program at Shell that earned him the ACC value champion award.

In 2020, Cordo was appointed chief revenue officer at Holland & Knight LLP, a legal firm, ultimately transitioning to his current position as chief client relations and opportunities officer.

Under Cordo’s leadership, the client relations and opportunities team epitomizes excellence in client development and deal flow management. “We take immense pride in the team’s accomplishments and the positive impact they have had on the businesses of our clients,” said Cordo. “Through a combination of effective communication, collaborative support with our partners, specialized expertise, and a client-centric approach, our team has consistently surpassed client expectations, facilitated successful referral partner programs, and provided continuous support to nurture enduring relationships.”

Cordo said his leadership style focuses on networking, building and nurturing relationships. “Successful leaders today often embody a blend of traditional and modern attributes, and empathy is crucial, as understanding and valuing the emotions and perspectives of others helps build strong, trusting relationships,” he said. “Adaptability is also essential, enabling leaders to navigate and thrive in rapidly changing environments by being open to new ideas and approaches.”

A clear and compelling vision guides and inspires teams toward common goals, while effective communication ensures everyone is on the same page and fosters a culture of transparency and collaboration, said Cordo. “Resilience, the capacity to recover quickly from setbacks and maintain focus on long-term objectives, is vital,” he said. “Inclusivity, embracing diversity, and fostering an environment where all voices are heard and valued, is another key attribute of a strong leader.”

Leading by example is important to Cordo, and he shares his experience and expertise with others in the industry. He is the author of the book “Law Firm Pricing: Strategies, Roles, and Responsibilities” and recently published “Data & Dialogue: a relationship redefined” in 2019. Cordo also sits on the United Way Suncoast finance committee and the YMCA board and is a 2022 class member of Leadership Tampa.

“Innovation, encouraging creativity, and being willing to take calculated risks to drive progress and improvement, is essential for modern leadership,” said Cordo.
