As a Titan 100 Hall of Fame inductee, Audrey Greenberg said one of her proudest accomplishments over the past two years has been successfully navigating the growth and merger of the company she founded.

SK pharmteco, formerly Center for Breakthrough Medicines, has a mission to save lives by accelerating the development and manufacturing of advanced therapies. The firm’s vision is to be the number one advanced therapies CDMO, utilizing deep scientific and manufacturing experience, large-scale manufacturing infrastructure and comprehensive analytical platforms.

As the founder of Center for Breakthrough Medicines, the most significant risk Greenberg took was embarking on the journey of entrepreneurship to establish a pioneering institution dedicated to advancing medical breakthroughs.

“This endeavor involved significant financial investment, navigating complex regulatory frameworks and assembling a team of experts,” said Greenberg. “Despite the inherent uncertainties and challenges of launching a new venture, I was driven by the conviction that our work could revolutionize healthcare and positively impact countless lives.”

Since its inception, the firm has achieved remarkable milestones, raising $500 million, recruiting 400 experts in cell and gene therapy from around the globe, and adding a 300,000 square-foot biomanufacturing space. Over the next five years, Greenberg said that her vision is to steer SK pharmteco toward becoming a powerhouse in the healthcare industry with a goal to elevate the organization into a $2 billion revenue giant while expanding the team to nearly 10,000 employees.

This vision includes strategically establishing a footprint in major biotech clusters, and leveraging the unique strengths of each region to enhance the company’s global impact. “Our ultimate aim is to treat millions of patients, making cutting-edge therapies accessible to those in need,” said Greenberg.

As a leader, Greenberg said she has been focused on fostering a diverse and dynamic workforce that drives innovation and excellence. “I aspire to leave behind a legacy of creating a workplace where women and minorities feel empowered to bring their full selves to work,” she said. “By fostering an inclusive environment, my goal is to elevate diverse voices, perspectives, and talents, thereby cultivating a culture of innovation and diversity of thought and action.”

Eliminating barriers and providing opportunities is an important part of Greenberg’s leadership style. “I aspire to be remembered as a leader who catalyzed progress, empowered individuals, and played a pivotal role in shaping a more inclusive, innovative and accessible future in healthcare,” she said.
