Workplace Human Capital Management Inc.

Location: Marlton, NJ

Founded: 2017

Industry: Payroll & HR

According to Frank Plum, the most important attribute of a successful leader is to have a clear, compelling vision for the future while articulating this vision to motivate others to work toward it. “Having a clear vision combined with integrity, communication skills and emotional intelligence are some of the most important attributes a successful leader should have,” he said.

Plum’s vision came to him after a successful career in television and broadcast, working for local production houses such as Nancy Glass Productions and Banyan Productions. It was in 2005 when he realized the industry wasn’t for him.

Plum took a position in the payroll and human resource management industry, and in 2017, co-founded Workplace Human Capital Management with his long-time colleague.

“We both believed that payroll was just a function of human resources and felt that businesses could scale faster and become more efficient by combining human capital management technology with outsourced SHRM-certified human resources managers and dedicated payroll specialists,” said Plum. “We believe that human capital is the key to success in the digital age, and we are committed to helping our clients achieve their goals by optimizing their recruitment, onboarding, development, retention and separation processes.”

Workplace Human Capital Management is an outsourced human resources and payroll company that helps businesses grow and become more efficient through the power of people, processes and technology. Under Plum’s leadership, the firm has grown to over $3 million in annualized revenue in the last six years.

Plum said his vision is to transform the industry with cutting-edge solutions that address the current and future needs of his customers. “I am always looking for new opportunities, challenges, and trends that can help me improve my products and services,” he said. “I love what I do, and I do it with enthusiasm, dedication and integrity.”

Plum’s efforts have landed him accolades such as the voice of business personal excellence award by the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce. In previous positions, he was consistently recognized as a top 50 sales professional and as one of the top executives in South Jersey by South Jersey Biz Magazine.

The most important risk Plum said he has made was his personal investment into Workplace Human Capital Management. “Usually when people say that they have made a personal investment into their company they are talking about a monetary investment from their personal savings,” said Plum. “Although I did use my personal savings combined with investor money to start Workplace, I consider time, reputation and regulatory risks all part of the personal investment that changed my livelihood.”
