In 2022, Troy Beane left the stability of an executive role to venture into entrepreneurship, driven by his desire for personal growth and a commitment to societal improvement, especially within the veteran community.
“This decision was motivated by the opportunity to address two pressing issues simultaneously: the Grey Wave or Silver Tsunami – the looming retirement of business owners who have operated their companies for over a decade – and the chronic under-employment of veterans post-service,” said Beane. “By merging these challenges into a singular entrepreneurial endeavor, I aimed to facilitate a seamless transition for seasoned business owners looking to realize the value of their life’s work, while providing capable veterans a pathway to elevate beyond middle management.”
Veteran Executive Leadership operates within the business strategy and advisory services sector, with a focus on leveraging the value of veterans to solve problems and create opportunities for business owners to achieve their goals. The company is committed to promoting the next generation of veteran entrepreneurs through various initiatives including acquiring small businesses and facilitating generational change.
According to Beane, his vision for the firm wasn’t just about financial gain; it was about fostering a community where veterans could find meaningful employment, leadership opportunities and a sense of camaraderie in civilian life. “We’ve created a model that not only drives economic success but also serves a greater purpose by providing veterans with a platform to thrive in their post-military careers,” said Beane. “This holistic approach to business is what truly defines my greatest accomplishment as a titan of industry.”
In reflecting on the past year since he was named a Titan 100, Beane said the paramount lesson he has learned in leadership is the indispensable value of building relationships. “Relationships can turn potential failures into successes, transforming challenges into opportunities for growth and preparation,” he said.
As a service-disabled veteran, Beane also understands the need to give back and the need for mentoring as a business owner and the chairman of the Union League of Philadelphia’s Veteran’s Fellowship Program.
“Embracing the ethos of service and mentorship has become a cornerstone of my approach to fostering an environment for the next generation of titans,” he said. “As someone who has benefited profoundly from mentoring throughout my military and professional journey, I recognized the transformative power of guidance and support, and this understanding has inspired me to integrate mentoring as a key component of my leadership style and the services my business offers.”
