As a two-time Titan 100, Dr. Amish Purohit has navigated the ever-changing landscape of healthcare with strategic foresight and adaptability in his role as president and chief health officer at Arkos Health. Recognizing the power of digital health, he has led the organization to adopt innovative technologies, including telehealth, remote monitoring and data analytics. In response to market shifts, he has also been instrumental in restructuring supply chains and leveraged digital tools to enhance engagement, access and personalized care for patients.

Arkos Health is a population health organization with a mission to deliver patient-centered service and personalized programs through proprietary technology combined with clinical programs and social services for a seamless transition to value-based care.

Under Purohit’s leadership, the culture of the organization has focused on agility and continuous learning. “Leadership drives digital transformation, and transparent communication is key,” he said. “Overcoming barriers like resistance to change has been a priority.”

In the past year, Purohit said his greatest leadership lesson learned has been the power of vulnerability. “As a leader, I used to believe that showing vulnerability was a sign of weakness,” he said. “However, I’ve come to realize that it’s quite the opposite. People appreciate leaders who are genuine and relatable.”

As a result of this realization, Purohit said that instead of hiding failures, he shares them openly. “This not only helps me learn and grow but also encourages others to do the same,” he said. “Failure is a stepping stone to success, and vulnerability allows us to embrace it.”

These insights are key to his mentoring strategy as he nurtures the next generation of leaders. “Sharing experiences, insights and lessons learned with emerging professionals is crucial,” said Purohit. “I encourage them to dream big, take risks and learn from failures.”

Purohit continues to support educational institutions by participating in guest lectures, workshops, and career panels, guiding students toward relevant fields and helping them build practical skills. He is also enrolled in another master’s program at Harvard Medical School and has helped younger students and physicians from a mentoring standpoint.

Purohit has been instrumental in creating opportunities for young talent with internship programs at Arkos Health and advocates for diversity to encourage underrepresented groups to pursue leadership roles. “I measure impact by tracking the number of diverse leaders we’ve nurtured,” he said.

If he had to name a superpower, it would be his ability to merge the realms of medicine and business. “This positions me to spearhead meaningful transformations within healthcare institutions,” said Purohit. “My adeptness at grasping the nuances of patient care and the intricacies of organizational behavior equips me to lead with efficacy, create enduring effects, and have a lasting impact.
