Leadership can often feel isolating when you’re at the helm of a small business, and Dr. Jeff McGee said he is someone who rarely gives himself credit. His recognition as a two-time Titan 100 has propelled him forward, he said. As a leader and the chief executive officer of Cross-Cultural Dynamics, his greatest leadership lesson this year centers on the fundamental importance of self-care.
“The realization that effective leadership springs from one’s ability to prioritize their own physical and mental well-being has transformed my approach to both personal life and professional leadership,” said McGee. “This past year taught me that true leadership is not about how much you can endure, but how well you can sustain your effectiveness, and this starts with self-care.”
Cross-Cultural Dynamics (CCD) is an organizational and leadership development firm that specializes in supporting leaders in developing healthy and inclusive organizational cultures. Under McGee’s leadership, the company’s revenue has increased 20% over the last year, affording the firm the opportunity to increase its involvement in community events and local charities.
“This dual focus on business growth and community involvement epitomizes my vision for what it means to be a titan of industry,” said McGee. “It’s not just about leading a successful business but also about making a meaningful impact on the world around us.”
Deeply embedded in community service and education, McGee serves on the advisory board of Grand Canyon University’s Honor College, judges university events aimed at assessing student presentations for scholarship purposes and is a board member of the Chandler Education Foundation. He is an active educator at Justice College, fulfilling his passion for mentoring students.
Another significant stride this year has been the integration of artificial intelligence tools into Cross-Cultural Dynamics’ leadership consulting services to streamline decision-making processes, enhance operational efficiency and provide deeper analytical insights. “The incorporation of AI into our services has not only set us apart from competitors but also added a layer of precision and customization that our clients greatly value,” said McGee.
As a leader, McGee said he relies on discernment. “Discernment allows me to see beyond the surface, to understand and interpret subtle cues and underlying motivations,” he said. “This ability to discern helps me navigate complex scenarios with clarity and confidence, ensuring that I can provide the best guidance and support. It’s a skill that enhances my intuition and empathy, enabling me to connect deeply with others and foster meaningful relationships.”
