His bold vision has served him well as the vice president and chief audit executive. In his role, he is accountable for the vision, design and implementation of the internal audit strategy at the company.

Kolawole’s role requires objective and independent reviews and evaluations of the company’s operations, information systems, controls, major business processes, records and reporting functions. Before taking on this role, he held a variety of executive roles at the company, including an appointment as the executive sponsor of the CEO led Sustained Action for Racial Equity initiative that led to the establishment of a $100 million Impact Fund, the Northwestern Mutual Black Founder Accelerator and a $20 million venture fund set aside for black/African American founders.
