As the founder and chief executive officer of VisMed-3D, Dima Elissa fuels her passion by staying focused on the firm’s mission. “My passion for VisMed-3D and healthcare innovation is continuously fueled by our purpose-driven mission to bridge health disparities through technology,” she said. “I make it a point to immerse myself in hands-on projects with our development team and actively engage with clinicians who utilize our models.”
Elissa has been at the forefront of healthcare innovation since establishing the company in 1997. Specializing in hospital and healthcare technology, Elissa has consistently driven VisMed-3D’s mission to bridge health disparities through cutting-edge data analytics, visualization and interoperability solutions.
Over the past three years, VisMed-3D has strategically advanced its technology to close health equity gaps. Its solutions have enabled safety-net hospitals to deliver more cohesive, patient-centered care, improving patient engagement and outcomes. These efforts have expanded VisMed-3D’s reach to over 10,000 healthcare providers.
In the past year, Elissa has led VisMed-3D’s diversification through the launch of Visual CO•LAB, a business line offering customized AI strategies for industries beyond healthcare, including finance, manufacturing and logistics. “This initiative broadens our focus beyond healthcare, extending our expertise to manufacturing, finance and logistics industries,” she said. “By helping organizations adopt AI solutions that are both scalable and adaptable, we enable them to stay competitive in an increasingly digital and data-driven marketplace.”
Her dedication to fostering an inclusive workplace culture is matched by her hands-on approach to leadership. “I encourage open dialogue, invite team members to share success stories, and host quarterly workshops that allow our staff to experience the real-world applications of our technology,” she said. “This immersive culture strengthens collective enthusiasm and commitment to our mission, inspiring a shared vision for the future.”
As a mentor and advocate for future leaders, Elissa actively supports aspiring entrepreneurs through the University of Chicago’s Polsky Exchange and other innovation hubs. “I’ve mentored individuals in sectors ranging from clean energy to digital media, helping them navigate the challenges of launching or expanding their ventures,” said Elissa. “For my high school mentees, I focus on strategic thinking, problem-solving, and building relationships, often stressing that ‘Your network is your net worth.’”
A two-time Titan 100, Elissa said the recognition has amplified her ability to create impact. “The greatest value of this recognition lies in the community it fosters—a network of visionary leaders across diverse industries who share a commitment to driving innovation and addressing critical societal challenges,” she said. “The connections I’ve made have allowed me to engage in conversations that expand our work beyond any single industry while also supporting the growth and development of other titans.”
