Arriving in the U.S. at 19 with just $100 and a single suitcase, Laura Kaleinikovas began her career as a cashier on Mackinac Island, Michigan. Through roles at Marshall Field’s and a New York talent agency, she developed skills in customer service, finance and leadership. While working full-time, she pursued a finance and investment degree at Baruch College. By the time she became vice president at the talent agency, her entrepreneurial spirit was undeniable, leading to the founding of Tower Communications Expert LLC (TCE).
Since co-founding TCE in 2007, Kaleinikovas has catapulted the company from a five-person operation generating $700,000 in its first year to a thriving organization with over 100 employees and $17 million in annual revenue by 2023. Her journey has made her a prominent figure in the telecommunications sector.
Under Kaleinikovas’ leadership, TCE has navigated significant challenges, including industry slowdowns and leadership transitions. By adopting cutting-edge technology and empowering her team with a “fail fast” mindset, Kaleinikovas has ensured the company remains agile in a competitive landscape.
“By staying agile, constantly challenging the status quo, and focusing on technological advancements, I’ve demonstrated my ability to adapt and lead in a highly competitive, fast-changing environment by staying agile, constantly challenging the status quo and focusing on technological advancements,” she said.
Kaleinikovas’ accomplishments extend beyond her role as the chief executive officer at TCE. She has been recognized by Women of NATE and KSM and was nominated for entrepreneur of the year 2022 Midwest. Yet, her greatest pride, she said, lies in TCE’s growth—a testament to her leadership and the team’s collective efforts.
Looking forward, Kaleinikovas envisions TCE as a leader not only in telecommunications but also in emerging industries like wind, solar and aerial technologies. Her strategy includes geographic expansion, industry diversification, and continued investment in AI and automation to drive efficiency and innovation. Central to this vision is a commitment to employee growth through upskilling, leadership development and fostering a collaborative workplace culture.
As a leader, Kaleinikovas maintains her passion for the business by staying connected to her mission: caring for the people who drive TCE’s success. “To keep my enthusiasm alive, I regularly remind myself why I started this journey and what matters most—caring for the people who make this business thrive,” she said. “I deeply care about the loyalty and growth of my employees, and I want to be an employer of choice where each person finds a meaningful place in the organization.”
