Scott Nodolf said he has always committed to being a lifelong learner. “I love to read and research my biggest passion – how to drive customer success,” he said. “I often look at other customer-centric industries and companies to see how they are approaching their customer growth strategy and how they are connecting with their customers to drive mutual value.”
As the chief revenue officer at Miller Tanner Associates, his passion and his willingness to learn have led to not only professional accomplishments but also opportunities to impact the firm’s customer-centric approach.
Miller Tanner Associates (MTA), a WBENC-certified, full-service corporate event planning company, specializes in delivering exceptional experiences across face-to-face, virtual, and hybrid meetings, blending personalized expertise and innovative solutions. Nodolf joined MTA in 2019, bringing his 24-year track record of success in the life sciences and healthcare industries to drive commercial growth and transformation.
Nodolf’s leadership at MTA has been marked by a variety of accomplishments. He led the integration of marketing, sales, and proposal teams into a unified Commercial Team, creating alignment and improving customer experience. He co-chaired MTA’s customer journey map initiative, identifying nearly 250 customer touchpoints and implementing over 100 enhancements. This initiative also launched a customer success team to streamline onboarding, ensuring a seamless transition from contract to event execution.
During the pandemic, Nodolf spearheaded MTA’s pivot to virtual event solutions, maintaining business continuity in a challenging period. His strategic vision delivered record revenue growth, with MTA achieving an 84% increase from 2021 to 2022 and a 73% rise from 2022 to 2023. By 2024, the company stabilized at a sustainable 14% growth rate, cementing its position as a leader in the events services industry.
Nodolf was instrumental in transforming MTA’s technology and marketing strategies. Under his guidance, MTA transitioned to Salesforce, and he drove a complete rebranding initiative and implemented an Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategy.
MTA has won multiple accolades, including silver and bronze Stevie Awards at the 2024 American Business Awards. Nodolf is also a thought leader in the industry, delivering keynote addresses on growth strategies and speaking at notable events like Salesforce’s Dreamforce conference.
One of Nodolf’s proudest achievements is spearheading a partnership with Trial Equity to improve diversity in clinical trials. This initiative seeks to address a critical industry challenge by increasing participation and education among underrepresented patient groups.
As a leader, Nodolf is passionate about cultivating talent and fostering innovation. “The unique talent we hire throughout our global team and the incredible work they do for our customers is astonishing, further motivating me and my efforts in the business,” he said. “I am beyond grateful for their efforts and continued focus on creating value for our customers, especially as a fully virtual company.”
