Recognizing 100 CEOs & C-level Executives

As simple as this leadership principle is, focus has had a renewed impact at OnShore Technology Group Inc., said chief executive officer Valarie King-Bailey. “I have learned that in order to drive growth, you must establish clear goals for everyone in the organization and track each goal to help ensure their achievement,” she said. “Greater focus has helped me steer the company toward greater growth in 2024 and to ensure accountability from each person.”

OnShore Technology Group Inc., founded by King-Bailey in 2004, specializes in information technology and services and provides advanced solutions for life sciences and government sectors, including the Digital IV&V platform, ValidationMaster. The firm’s mission is to deliver advanced technology and services to assist life sciences companies in their quest to bring new products and therapies to market and ensure sustained compliance.

Under King-Bailey’s leadership, OnShore Technology Group has seen remarkable growth, including a 300% increase in global product demonstrations and a 40% boost in sales. Looking ahead, her focus is on expanding the firm’s reach into regulated industries such as energy, utilities and finance.

Her adoption of forward-thinking strategies, like the Entrepreneurial Operating System traction methodology, has streamlined OnShore Technology Group’s operations and fostered an environment of accountability and growth. These efforts have resulted in a significant increase in the company’s software pipeline and organizational efficiency.

This year, the two-time Titan 100 also finalized her book, “Never Never Quit,” where she reflects on her rise from Chicago’s housing projects to becoming a trailblazing chief executive officer. As the first Black woman from her high school to attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she graduated as the first Black female from the College of Civil and Environmental Engineering, King-Bailey is no stranger to breaking barriers. “The focus of the book is to encourage future entrepreneurs to dream big no matter where you come from,” she said.

King-Bailey’s accomplishments have garnered her significant recognition in 2024, including the Enterprising Women of the year award, Chicago United Business Leaders of Color award, and the WPO woman of impact award. Additionally, her profile was featured in Marquis “Who’s Who of Professional Women.”

An advocate for STEM, King-Bailey is passionate about mentoring the next generation of innovators. Through her work with the Young Transatlantic Innovation Leaders Initiative and her foundation’s local scholarships and mentorship programs, she inspires young people to pursue careers in technology and entrepreneurship. Her keynote addresses, like those at DePaul University, emphasize resilience and the importance of STEM education for national sustainability.

“I am eager to mentor young people, especially those who pursue STEM professions, in pursuing and achieving their educational goals and entrepreneurial goals,” she said.
