Recognizing 100 CEOs & C-level Executives

As a Hall of Fame Titan 100, Kate Brewer hopes that her lasting legacy will be that she built a company that provided physical, occupational and speech therapy services to people and made their lives better. “Every day our therapy teams see patients and help them recover from an injury, manage their symptoms or try to improve an area of function that is compromised for them,” said Brewer. “Work truly does not feel like work when you love what you do.”

Greenfield Rehabilitation Agency provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to senior communities, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies and outpatient in-home services. Rehab resources provides physical, occupational and speech therapy services to Birth to Three programs, schools, outpatient clinics and outpatient in-home services.

Under Brewer’s leadership, the company has stayed focused on its three core values of agility, integrity and community. “When we put the client first and ensure compliance with rules and regulations, we are confident that the financial results will follow,” she said. “We are doing things the right way, and not cutting corners; we conduct ourselves with integrity at all times and in all interactions. This also means that our team members meet the patient and their family where they are at, so that we can set reasonable and attainable goals that will have an impact upon their quality of life.”

Brewer’s proudest accomplishment this year was the company’s recognition as a top place to work in the Southeast Wisconsin market by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for the fourth time.

“One of our company’s pillars is engaging our people, and as the chief executive officer this is my direct responsibility to make sure we create and cultivate an engaging and supportive atmosphere that makes our team members love where they work and feel personal satisfaction and fulfillment at the end of their workday,” said Brewer. “This can be particularly challenging because our teams are spread out over the entire state of Wisconsin, across nursing homes, senior communities, schools, outpatient clinics and in the homes of our clients.”

As a leader, Brewer also hopes that she is remembered for creating a workplace where people felt seen, heard and valued. “Being able to lead a company that can support so many people and families is a source of true joy and pride,” she said. “Creating a work environment where people love to come to work and choose to stay and be loyal to us, as demonstrated by that 94% retention rate, is a legacy I will never take for granted.”
