Tim Kippenhan began his career at Miron Construction Co. when he was in high school, working in the warehouse over several summers. Upon graduation, he attended Michigan Technological University, majoring in mechanical engineering, but after his first year, he developed a true interest in construction and changed his major to civil engineering in order to pursue that career path.
Kippenhan seized the opportunity to explore various aspects of the business at Miron. He worked in estimating, as well as in the field, to gain a broader understanding of construction and how projects come together. He has held roles as a project manager and director of project management and, in 2002, assumed the role of vice president and chief operating officer.
Miron Construction Co. Inc. has been providing professional construction services to clients throughout the Midwest, with an expanded geographical reach across the U.S., for more than a century. Miron is a privately held, family-owned company in its fourth generation with a culture and passion for building.
Under Kippenhan’s leadership, the firm has redeveloped its core values and has been working on business transition plans for future leadership and growth opportunities.
First and foremost, Kippenhan said he prides himself on the relationships built with repeat clients, the capacity to continue performing at a high level and the ability to stand behind Miron’s work.
“Flowing down from Tim and the leadership group, every team member understands how crucial it is to build and maintain trusting relationships,” said his staff.
According to Tim, doing so has not only forged strong connections but has also afforded the company countless opportunities. When clients and partners trust Miron to work in their facilities or recommend the company to others, it establishes Miron as a committed and trustworthy partner and helps to propel the company forward.”
Outside of work, Kippenhan has been involved with the AGC of Wisconsin throughout his career and currently serves as an IAP trustee. He is actively involved with the Boys & Girls Club of the Fox Valley, serving as a board member as well as past president, and is a long-standing executive committee member participating in various activities with the organization.
As a leader, Kippenhan takes a discerning and tactical approach to best grow the company and cement Miron as a leader in the industry. “I am always willing to challenge myself and others in the company, as well as the industry, in the name of progress and evolution,” he said.
