In 2010, Benji Bearman was ordering a lot of swag from various vendors, but it felt like something was missing. A $27 billion a year industry, physical marketing is the cheapest giveaway for a company to get their brand out there. “Missing was someone guiding businesses through the process of finding the right swag for their goals and showing how to track ROI to ensure success,” said Bearman.
Liquid Screen Design started as a side hustle in 2010, but with exceptional growth, both Benji Bearman and his business partner left their full-time jobs in 2017 and have grown the company to 22 employees.
Liquid Screen Design is a physical marketing company that enables brands to tap into the power of creative swag, providing an innovative and unique way to further that brand’s purpose, tell its story, earn a loyal fanbase and inspire action. Over the last three years, the company has embarked on a journey of growth marked by a series of strategic decisions and innovations that have transformed the firm.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic led the company to lose more than $500,000 of orders, Bearman and his team pivoted back and by 2020, the firm was named the 4th Fastest Growing Distributor in the Promotional Products Industry and the 12th Best Place to Work in the industry.
“Benji’s approach to design is focused on creating custom, one-of-a-kind pieces that tell a story and truly stand out to make an impact,” said his colleagues. “He is committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the world of graphic design and promo and is constantly exploring new techniques and approaches to create truly innovative and eye-catching designs and products.”
While experiencing significant growth, the company has introduced a range of new products, including custom games such as Swag-a-grams and Swag-zee, custom swag boxes and creative uses of products for outreach and engagement.
At the heart of Liquid Screen Design has been building and developing relationships with clients and it’s no coincidence that over the last five years, sales have continued to grow through referrals. “Conversations with clients aren’t focused on the sale, but rather on working together and collaboration,” said Bearman.
Over the years, Bearman said he has learned that leadership is about making tough decisions, especially during challenging times. “Leadership, to me, means navigating through unchartered waters with a sense of responsibility,” he said. “Empowering our team and encouraging them to take ownership has been a critical aspect of my leadership philosophy.”
For his ability to empower, adapt to change and push through challenges with enthusiasm, Bearman has been named a titan.
