Industry: Structural Steel Fabrication

Strong, intelligent, honest, young, charismatic. And a fierce leader in the structural steel industry. People are noticing Stephanie N. Green, who has never been one to take the safe route.

Green, vice president and CFO of Atlas Iron Works, said, “You will either step forward into growth, or you will step back into safety.”

With over 13 years experience in construction, finance, operations, project management, sales, and estimating, Green has only recently become a part of the steel/ manufacturing industry, but her success started long before that.

At the age of 18 years old, Green was already managing four businesses, while going to night classes to obtain her MBA / Supply Chain Management degrees. Green was hired by Atlas to develop better ways of operating and to handle technological advancements, implementations on lean six sigma, supply chain management, financial monitoring, employee retention, increasing sales, cutting costs, and enhancing client success.

And she has not let them down.

Green said that she would like to remain influential and an industry leader by embracing technological advancements, product development, being open and honest, embracing change, developing educational materials, and training programs. In the next 5 years, she would like to expand her current market territories, launch product lines, introduce automation on the shop floor, software upgrades, hire more employees, build renovations, and, “really connect with clients to establish stronger working relationships.”

“Atlas Iron Works aims to make your experience not only great, but also hassle free. We live by the words simple, honest, and fair,” Green said. “We operate our business as a competitor in our marketplace in an ethical manner which enhances our relationships with our employees, customers, and suppliers. We work hard every day to make sure your vision comes true.”

She attributes her success to the greatest leadership lesson she has learned: Delegate, delegate, delegate.

“I cannot say it enough. When you have an entire team behind you they need to not only show up to work, but they need to have a reason, a purpose to show up to work. Everyone wants a feeling of belonging, and they want to be a part of something,” Green said. “Explaining the ‘why’ and then delegating responsibilities establishes accountability and responsibility. In return your organization will start growing at the same pace, and everyone is on the same page.”

Always encouraging those around her to find the answers for themselves first, before asking for help, she listens to problems only to help find solutions. She seeks to deliver excellence, while shaping others around her.

Unstoppable, creative, personable, Green doesn’t believe in following the leader. She carves her own path.
