From a young age, Tim Hebel had a deep fascination with the world of business. The idea of creating something, building it from scratch and seeing it thrive ignited his entrepreneurial spirit, he said. As he pursued his degree in computer science from UMSL, this passion led him down a path he never expected when he started dabbling in web development.
He began creating websites for family and friends who needed an online presence for their small businesses. Word quickly spread and referrals came in and with more work than he could handle on his own, Hebel took the leap and established Beanstalk Web Solutions, embarking on an entrepreneurial journey.
Beanstalk Web Solutions is a web development and digital marketing agency with a mission statement to provide web-related services that go above and beyond the expectations of its customers at a fair and reasonable price.
“The catalyst for this decision was witnessing the frustration of a company Tim worked for as they purchased a website and paid an exorbitant price for a subpar final product that was not only disheartening but also unjustifiable,” said his staff. “Tim knew that he could do better, that he could deliver high-quality websites at a fair price, and he was determined to ensure that his clients understood precisely what they were investing in and what they needed.”
Under Hebel’s leadership, the company grew from a starting point of $0 to over $2 million in revenue, ranking as one of the largest web design firms in the St. Louis area. Hebel received the 40 Under 40 award, and the firm was ranked as the 9th fastest-growing company in St. Louis in 2022.
“This achievement showcases Tim’s remarkable ability to bootstrap a business and create sustainable growth,” said his staff. “It reflects his commitment to building the company from the ground up, relying solely on the team’s hard work and dedication.
According to Hebel, the heart of the business is his team, a formidable force comprising of over 40 talented individuals. “Our aspiration is to ensure that every member of this team is not just in a seat but in the right seat, aligning their skills, passions and expertise with the needs of the organization,” he said.
Hebel said the most important attribute for leadership is the ability to listen to feedback recommendations and critiques. “If a leader finds themselves in an echo chamber, they are throwing away their most valuable resource – their team.”
For the value he has added to the community and the industry, Hebel has been named a titan.
