Technology Partners

Location: Chesterfield, MO

Founded: 1994

Industry: Technology

Technology Partners started when Greg Nichols developed his own software as a part-time endeavor. He needed someone to help market it, so he turned to his wife, Lisa, who worked in sales. “I talked her into leaving that job and sell my product,” said Nichols. “Nearly 30 years later, Technology Partners has grown into one of the region’s most prominent technology solution companies.”

Technology Partners is an award-winning, St. Louis-based company that provides solutions across talent, technology and leadership development. In business for nearly 30 years, the company has partnered with hundreds of corporate clients across a range of industries nationwide and is a certified Women Business Enterprise that was built upon a revolutionary transparent-margin business model. The firm serves Fortune 500 enterprises and midsize organizations with staffing, software development, data and artificial intelligence and leadership development solutions.

Under Nichols’ guidance, the firm has transformed from a small IT consulting firm into a powerhouse. He also shifted the company’s focus toward solutions-based work which allowed clients to present problems so Technology Partners could deliver comprehensive solutions.

“What sets Greg apart is his ability to adapt and innovate in a constantly evolving industry,” said his staff. “Greg’s astuteness extends beyond Technology Partners’ immediate interests – he’s keenly aware of industry trends, particularly the growing demand for IT consulting and staffing services.”

As a leader, Nichols said that it’s important to have a blend of adaptability and forward-thinking. “Embracing change with resilience aligns with our commitment to driving lasting impact in the world, living our mission as we empower clients through talent and technology,” he said. “I have been called the Professor of Process because I love taking a look at challenges from a high level and then figure out the processes to overcome them.”

Embracing change has not only led to the success of the company but also accolades for Nichols. He and the company have received the 2023 Impact Award, 2023 Top Workplace recognition and the Best of Staffing 10 Consecutive Year Award. The company also obtained SOC 2 certification and Nichols joined the business schools of Missouri Baptist University and St. Louis University as a board member, working with local deans and business professors to shape curriculum for the next generation of business leaders.

“You must have the courage to take calculated risks,” said Nichols. “Sometimes, the biggest rewards come from venturing into unchartered territory; trust your instincts and don’t shy away from challenges.”

Nichols’ success continues with a spot on the Titan 100 list.
