What David Jones continues to learn as a leader is that your team is critical for navigating challenges. “The team you surround yourself with is critical for success, and I am confident in my leadership team to continue to lead and carry our organization even when things are hard,” Jones said. “It is in those hard moments when you truly see people shine.”
A Hall of Fame Titan 100, Jones, CEO of Sonsio Vehicle Protection, said that as a leader, you can attempt to do it yourself or you can trust in the team you have assembled and give them the autonomy and space to do what they do best. “We were coming off one of the best years in the history of our company when a worldwide pandemic followed quickly by an uncertain economy,” said Jones. “Through underperforming programs, reducing revenue, declining EBITDA and very hard conversations which led to a reduction in workforce, we remained strong and resolved to see it through.”
Jones credits the company’s foundation and core values as the motivation for himself and his staff. “We have been able to navigate the last two years of turbulent waters, and our core values are the essence of who we are as an organization and how we show up every day internally and externally,” he said.
Looking forward, Jones said Sonsio’s five-year vision is to continue to offer a comprehensive lineup of industry-leading products and programs that provide vehicle owners with competitive and valuable coverage to keep their vehicles on the road safely and to maximize resale value by keeping the appearance of their vehicles like-new.
In addition, under Jones’ leadership, Sonsio will continue to build out a strong risk management strategy to leverage its Enterprise Data Management project which lays the foundation for reporting, risk management and business analytics. The company also plans to invest in technology initiatives. “Better data will enhance our internal and external risk reviews, allowing for more timely and focused price adjustments and faster implementation of claims mitigation levers,” said Jones.
