DeAndre Jones is described as a disrupter with an entrepreneurial spirit. “He quickly builds best-in-class and diverse leadership teams that solve really big challenges in new and creative ways,” said his colleagues. Jones joined FIS to help the current chief executive officer turn the organization around. As the chief client officer, he oversees the post-sale lifecycle for FIS and drives the strategies that elevate the client experience by managing more than 7 billion dollars in client revenue and running a one-billion-dollar professional services business.
FIS is a leader in technology and services that helps businesses and communities thrive by advancing commerce and the financial world. For over 50 years, FIS has continued to drive growth for clients by connecting merchants, banks, and capital markets to scale, apply deep expertise and data-driven insights, innovate with purpose, and deliver experiences that are more simple, seamless, and secure to advance the way the world pays, banks and invests.
Jones leads a 9,000-person client-centric organization focused on meeting the evolving needs of clients. According to his colleagues, he is leading the way for FIS to earn client loyalty by strategically partnering to create one unified, reliable and flexible experience that delivers value. “He’s improved key client satisfaction metrics, employee satisfaction, rebuilt sizable organizations to create growth and efficiency, and figured out new ways to grow revenue through the new services,” they said. “He has not been afraid to break down barriers, go first and lead with authenticity.”
Jones’ efforts have earned him recognition as a Phoenix Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree and was a featured keynote at AfroTech, a diverse tech conference with more than 16,000 attendees.
As an advocate for diversity, Jones has assembled the most diverse senior leadership team at FIS, which includes more than 70% representation from women in SVP-level roles. He holds a board seat on the National Diversity Council and speaks regularly about building an inclusive work environment.
“I have an unwavering desire to see myself, my team, and the company consistently win and do well,” said Jones. “During tough moments, I can tap into that power and inspire myself and others to do what is necessary to find a path forward by solving a difficult problem, innovating with new technology or bringing people together to do great things that have not been done before.”
If he could give his younger self advice, Jones said it would be to broaden your experience by broadening your perspective. “Appreciate all people and all gifts and become the leader that brings everyone along to be great together,” he said.
