Healthcare has always been a major part of Lawrence D’Amico’s upbringing. With his father, a physician, and his mother, a nurse, D’Amico got to witness firsthand the business challenges that independent physicians and healthcare providers face in a deeply regulated and ever-changing industry. His passion for healthcare, love of business and enthusiasm for solving challenging problems brought him into the field of healthcare administration.
His career has spanned from positions in administration and work for two Fortune 250 healthcare organizations. D’Amico was recruited specifically to Abrazo West Campus to help develop the market to match the rapid population growth and demand for healthcare that is occurring in the West Valley.

In his role as chief strategy officer, D’Amico is responsible for advancing the firm’s short- and long-term business growth plans and the development and implementation of the hospital’s business strategy and market position in the community.
“Larry has continued to tirelessly work throughout his healthcare career to advance access for patients and ensure that they are getting the right care at the right place at the right time,” said his colleagues. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in multiple healthcare sectors and has delivered high-quality outcomes in both the ambulatory and acute care hospital settings.”
In his time at Abrazo West Campus, D’Amico has led multi-million-dollar expansion projects to develop services and has seen them through to completion, including the expansion of a brand-new interventional radiology suite and pharmacy. Additionally, D’Amico implemented a new AI-powered seizure detection tool that was the first hospital in the greater Phoenix area to use this type of technology.
Outside of the field, D’Amico sits on the board of directors for the Litchfield Elementary School District Educational Foundation, working with a team to raise over $60,000 to support the students and staff of the Litchfield Park school district.
As a leader and influencer in the community, D’Amico said he utilizes his emotional intelligence and his ability to build strong, lasting relationships. “Building strong relationships is invaluable and a critical component for workplace collaboration and productivity,” he said. “Each relationship I have built has helped me to get where I am today and has allowed me to pass on the knowledge and skills I have acquired.”
