With more than 20 years in construction and a true passion for building things, Tiffany Sharp founded Sharp Construction, realizing her ability to lead and make an impact on the industry. Recognizing that the commercial construction industry was evolving at a breakneck speed and technology was accelerating the rate of learning, Sharp capitalized on a unique time in the marketplace to deliver best-in-class customer service with an experienced team that is focused on collaboration, process management, and doing the right thing 100% of the time and founded Sharp Construction.
Sharp Construction is a Women’s Business Enterprise and a commercial general contractor located in Phoenix, with a focus on the following construction business sectors: commercial office, hospitality, mixed-use, retail, special projects, restaurants and medical.
Under Sharp’s leadership, the company has recently stepped into the public works and government project sectors with plans to maximize its footprint in the construction industry through multiple business divisions inclusive of new construction, tenant improvement and public works. Sharp is one of the few women in the state of Arizona to have her KB-1 commercial general contractor’s license, which is why she is committed to mentoring young professionals.
“Tiffany has built a company focused on investing in young professionals and building them up, investing in their education and providing them mentorship to excel in the industry,” said her staff. “During a time of labor shortage, she believed in those willing to learn and has built professional project managers that walked through the door with little or no experience.”
Since opening Sharp Construction, Sharp has co-founded Girls Can Build, an Arizona-based initiative powered by Sharp Construction with a mission to break down barriers to women in the industries of construction, design and engineering. In the last year, the initiative has fundraised over $230,000 and purchased its first mobile building space, a nontraditional education program on wheels exposing young girls to the trades regardless of their socioeconomic background or location.
As a leader, Sharp said she relies on her unwavering resilience. “In the face of adversity and challenges, I possess an innate ability to stay focused, adapt and push forward,” she said. “This resilience has been crucial in building and sustaining Sharp Construction, especially in an industry as demanding and dynamic as commercial construction.”
Resilience also enables her to view setbacks not as insurmountable obstacles but as opportunities for growth and learning, said Sharp. “Resilience allows me to maintain a positive outlook and inspire my team, even during the most difficult times,” she said. “This quality ensures that we remain committed to our goals, continuously improve, and ultimately achieve success, no matter what challenges come our way.”
