Trish Gulbranson started her career as a certified public accountant with Big 4 accounting firms, and how she ended up as an entrepreneur was almost fate. After joining a software company, and ultimately becoming its president and chief executive officer, she embarked on a transformative journey that reshaped her perspective on entrepreneurship as she gained invaluable lessons in leadership, resilience and the limitless potential of human growth.
“It was a journey marked by challenges, risks and moments of exhilaration – a journey that fueled my passion for creating impactful ventures,” said Gulbranson. Transitioning from the fast-paced realm of software to the realm of health and wellness, she ventured into medical aesthetics, drawn by a deep-seated desire to help individuals become the best versions of themselves.
She is now the founder and president of Derma Health Skin & Laser, a medical aesthetics firm with a mission to uplift, inspire and encourage. Over the past 19 years, the company has served over 80,000 patients.
With a steadfast commitment to education, empowerment, and excellence, Gulbranson has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of medical aesthetics, both locally in Phoenix and on a broad scale. One of her most significant contributions lies in the training and mentorship of countless talented medical professionals who have launched their careers from her facilities.
“I have always had a proactive approach to embracing new services and technologies well before they were recognized as mainstream, which has set me apart as a visionary leader,” said Gulbranson. She has been at the forefront of implementing bio-identical hormone treatments, food allergy testing, nutritional IVs and nutritional counseling.
As a result, Derma Health Skin & Laser has been recognized as an Inc. 500 fastest-growing company for three years and received the Sun Devil 100 award for three years. Gulbranson has been named one of the top 50 most influential women in Arizona.
Noting her superpower as her instincts, Gulbranson said she has a combination of financial acumen mixed with an appetite for calculated risk. “I don’t know all the answers, but I have a strong desire to always be learning,” she said. “I keep myself well-informed and then use my instincts to make decisions.”
Beyond business success, Gulbranson is deeply invested in education and philanthropy, serving on the Arizona State University board of trustees and as a member of ASU Women and Philanthropy.
As a leader, Gulbranson said values are by far the most important attribute. “Without values, you have no North Star and you’re subject to drift without that guide,” she said. “I believe your character and your ethics are driven by those values.”
