LaunchPM

Location: AZ

Founded: 2012

Industry: Commercial Construction

Since Beth Scarano was named a Titan 100, it’s been a busy year in her role as the principal and chief executive officer of LaunchPM. While continuing its trajectory of 30% year-over-year growth, Scarano largely focused on expanding the company’s services into new vertical markets and increasing its efficiency both internally and externally. The growth has led to new hires while managing multiple projects to repurpose big box stores into medical facilities.

LaunchPM delivers strategic, results-driven project management solutions for all types of building projects. The company is committed to providing the project management expertise needed to help businesses and nonprofit organizations successfully transition to new or improved commercial space.

Over the last two years, the LaunchPM team has doubled in size and now manages more than 60 projects at any given time. The addition of new clients and projects prompted the two-time Titan 100 to add more people to her team and implement new processes to facilitate communications.

“Scarano has focused on creating a work environment that allows everyone to easily access the information they need to communicate with clients, vendors, and coworkers, and track project progress as she looks at the big picture to move the company forward,” said her staff.

When reflecting upon her greatest leadership lesson learned this year, Scarano said it is twofold. “First, I realized the need to find more clarity in defining success as we plan for the future,” she said. “Second, I’ve learned the importance of communicating my vision for success with the team and the value of encouraging their personal growth as part of the process.”

As a mentor of young professionals, Scarano said that a key part of her job is to create an environment that fosters growth. It begins with training and mentoring the company’s account coordinators who work alongside and support the project managers. She holds weekly team meetings to review projects, provide company ideas and share ideas. She also hosts quarterly team building events and outings.

Her superpower is her ability to build strong teams, said Scarano. “It is invaluable to put together the right people in the right seats to ensure the successful completion of a project,” she said.

As a leader, in the ever-changing business climate, Scarano said that the most important attributes of successful leaders are the ability to stay flexible and to be adaptable. “It is crucial to keep a pulse on the changing market and be ready and willing to adjust as needed,” she said. “It is also important to lead with integrity and always do what you say you’re going to do.”
