Antonio Souchets entrepreneurial journey was profoundly influenced by the challenges and frustrations his wife faced as a dedicated physician. Witnessing her daily struggles sparked a deep desire in me to effect meaningful change, said Souchet. She was locked in a dispute with the clinics leadership regarding patient care quality, arising from their focus on maximizing patient numbers.
This situation underscored a critical flaw in the healthcare system: excessive administrative tasks that impede quality care delivery. Resolved to devise a solution to support her and other healthcare providers, Souchet embarked on a journey into the business aspect of healthcare and co-founded AMA Medical Group to foster an environment where physicians could concentrate on patient care without the operational burdens of healthcare.
AMA Medical Group is the intersection of compassion and innovation in healthcare with a mission to deliver lifelong exceptional care, leveraging its distinctive expertise to serve everyone with excellence. AMA Medical Group has garnered accolades for its excellence in numerous domains, notably achieving a 5-star rating in HEDIS measuresa reflection of its superior care and the efficacy of its patient management systems.
Our practice has evolved into a haven where professionals can offer personalized, empathetic care, free from the previous limitations, said Souchet. This transformation has not only bettered our healthcare providers lives but also markedly improved the patient care experience, making our practice a model of how healthcare can and should operate.
In addition to his roles as co-founder and vice president at AMA Medical Group, Souchet led the creation of one of the initial COVID-19 outpatient clinics in the Tampa Bay region, authorized by the Florida Department of Health. This clinic managed to vaccinate over 4,000 people in its first few months, including patients, caregivers, other healthcare workers, local business staff, and various religious community members, maintaining this rate until the communitys needs were met. All the while, he ensured the continuation of regular patient care, adequate PPE for staff, and mask provision for patients and visitors.
The ability to withstand and navigate through challenges is crucial, said Souchet. Resilient leaders can maintain focus and continue driving their organizations forward, even in the face of adversity.
As a leader, Souchet is also committed to lifelong learning and professional development. Leaders who seek new knowledge and skills stay relevant and inspire their teams to do the same, he said.
