Damon Moorers journey is a testament to the power of unexpected paths. He did not plan to become a bank president. My dad served in the Air Force for over 20 years, and my parents served the community for many years, and their influence, along with my unique experiences, has shaped my entrepreneurial journey, said Moorer. He began his career at Capital One before joining FIS. In these roles, Moorer had the opportunity to develop leadership skills as the banking industry underwent a rapid digital transformation. He joined TCM Bank as the vice president of operations and information technology, moving up the ranks to chief operating officer and ultimately president and chief executive officer.

The firms primary services include portfolio purchasing and agent bank credit card program options with the purpose of supporting ICBA, community banks, its agents, and its customers by providing the most satisfying credit card-related services ever.
Under Moorers guidance, TCM Bank has ranked in the top 10 nationally in yield on earning assets, net interest margin, and non-interest income and is top 25 in equity capital. The banks balance sheet has grown from $150 million to $350 million. A business card product suite that drives $1 billion in sales volume annually was introduced and the number of clients increased by 50%.
Moorer was also instrumental in launching a change management model, DEI program, people office, cyber security framework and a digital transformation strategy. His expertise has led to several speaking engagements and published white papers, and he is passionate about serving the community with Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels.
I have a unique combination of people-oriented and strategic thinking skills, and this combination of skills has led to building a workplace culture that values people over profit, innovation, collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement, said Moorer. As a leader, Moorer said he believes in creating a circle of safety and maintaining a growth mindset based on resiliency. Strong leaders build trust, lead by example, admit mistakes and put the needs of others above their own, he said.
