As a new graduate, Doug Fisher began working in marketing and, at that time, was struggling financially. Despite demonstrating strong performance, I was underpaid and, in seeking a mere $1/hour raise, I was not only denied but abruptly terminated as the company was downsizing, he said. From that moment, I committed myself to hard work and doing everything necessary to ensure that I would always be an indispensable asset to any team and company.
His professional path propelled him into the mortgage sector and ultimately a role at a large commercial furniture manufacturer. My reputation for successfully building companies continued to gain widespread recognition across the industry, said Fisher. My comprehensive experience on both the manufacturer and dealer sides led Herman Miller executives to approach me about acquiring one of their dealers.
After a demanding six months, Fisher and his business partner completed the acquisition and Wrk Lab officially opened on January 1, 2019.
