For as long as he can remember, Kyle Mishler worked to give back to others. At 14, he helped to provide for his family, and as the years progressed, he found himself being given an opportunity to start in the roofing industry. “With no knowledge besides a mechanical mind to want to learn the how and why, I was excited to learn about roofing and become the best in my role,” he said.
Mishler excelled in the industry, taking on supervisory roles and coordinating projects with clients. However, he wanted more – to learn the sales side of roofing. He joined another roofing company and was disgusted at how customers were treated.
“It was at this time I decided I wanted to start my own company that was driven around employees feeling safe while making our customers part of the family,” said Mishler. “Our culture has been created and it is clear, and this is what excites me every day – being able to provide an amazing service to the customers and to the team.”
As the founder & chief executive officer of KAM Roofing Services, Mishler has grown the company from one to 40 employees. KAM Roofing Services has been recognized with the growth award by Action Coach of Tampa Bay and has been featured in a local Palm Harbor magazine.
“For me it isn’t about re-creating the wheel but to bring back strong core values of humanity, having compassion about what someone is going through and not looking at them and treating them like a used car,” said Mishler. “Our tagline is ‘Taking the CON out of Construction,’ and we do this with every person we meet and work with.”
Fulfilling his need from childhood to work to help others, Mishler and his team engage with charitable foundations in the community. “A relationship with Habitat for Humanity has allowed us to work with another great company with amazing values. Being able to give back is so rewarding,” said Mishler. “We donate a roof for every ten they award us, and recently we were able to sponsor an entire home for the Walker family.”
Described as a master of multitasking, Mishler said his vision is for the company to be a staple in the Tampa Bay region and the roofing industry. He also plans to continue building and mentoring his team while leading from the heart.
“Strong leaders are compassionate yet hold everyone accountable,” said Mishler. “You have to truly want others to succeed around you.”
