Maulik Bhalani

Chief Executive Officer

Florida Pain Medicine

Location: ,

Founded: 2012

According to Maulik Bhalani, MD, medical practices come and go all the time because it’s hard to stay sustainable and survive long-term. “We’ve done this as a track record with lots of struggles and lots of success, but overall, we continue to grow and have been around for a lot longer than most other interventional pain practices have despite the pressures from the outside world or the inside world,” he said.

When Dr. Bhalani founded Florida Pain Medicine, the company had one office in Wesley Chapel. Under his leadership, the organization now has eight total offices in Florida. “It is very difficult to grow in the medical space if it’s not done the right way,” said Dr. Bhalani. “Florida Pain Medicine combines cutting-edge technology with a holistic approach to patient health, helping those suffering from pain return to the activities they love.”

Florida Pain Medicine is an interventional pain and spine management ambulatory surgery center, providing the latest in technological advances to relieve pain associated with bone, muscle, nerve damage and any other painful illnesses including cancer-related pain – improving quality of life. The organization also offers state-of-the- art interventional pain procedures, which are performed in the office. Through these treatments, Florida Pain Medicine strives to help patients reduce costs and decrease the need for long-term pain medications.

Dr. Bhalani is board-certified in interventional pain medicine and physical medicine & rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Medical Specialties. Dr. Bhalani is the current president-elect of the Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (FSIPP) and a member of several professional societies and regional organizations dedicated to pain medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation.

He currently serves as clinical associate professor and faculty for the pain medicine fellowship and department of neurology at the University of South Florida which allows Florida Pain Medicine to be a core rotation site for the ACGME pain medicine fellows and physical medicine and rehabilitation residents.

Dr. Bhalani’s success has led to speaking engagements at local and national conferences. He was also named businessman of the year 2024 by the Indo-U.S. Chamber of Commerce and has earned the Tampa Bay top docs award six times.

“The goal is to continue to impact more lives within the Tampa Bay community by keeping them functional, more active and in less pain,” said Dr. Bhalani.

As a leader, he said knowing when you need help is crucial. “I think it’s important to understand that in order to have success, you need to have the right people on the right seats on the right bus going to the right destination,” he said.
