Paula Woodrings story started at the age of 18. She was hand-delivering mortgage payments to Beneficial Mortgage. The ladies in the office loved talking to her and eventually asked her to come work there. At the time Woodring was graduating on early release, buying a house and had enrolled in college. Some might say her plate was full. But not Woodring.
After closing on her house, she decided to accept the job and the rest is history. This began her career. After experiencing a company buyout, she started another entirely new title company under a joint venture where she is the sole owner and chief executive officer.
Reltco Inc. is a nationwide title agency providing title and loan closing services to national and regional lending institutions. Reltco Inc. supports lenders, banks, and realtors by providing essential and time-sensitive services in 50 states and the District of Columbia. The firms customer base includes national residential mortgage lenders, consumer finance companies, regional and local commercial banks, savings banks, mortgage brokers, credit unions, and realtors.
The last two years have been challenging. We had very high revenues, but the industry has taken a turn. The mortgage industry was hit extremely hard, Woodring said. In a challenging market, under Woodrings guidance, the firm amassed revenue of over $20 million in 2021 which dipped to $11.1 million in 2023 but is now projected back to $15 million in 2024.
Woodrings success has led to accolades. She was the National Association of Woman Professionals winner for two years, was named a whos who top female executive, was recognized as a top 40 under 40 winner and the company has been named a top producing agency four times. Reltco Inc. was also named a top place to work five times by the Tampa Bay Times.
As a leader, Woodring said she surrounds herself with people as smart or smarter than her for a reason. Her ability to listen to new ideas, and visions and promote self-improvement with education, lunch n learn courses, and cross-training for her team are important, said her staff. Simply her strength, humility and kindness are things that make her a titan.
According to Woodring, she prioritizes healthy communication in her role. Communication is always key to any business along with integrity, passion, having a solid vision, and a little wit and humor never hurt anyone, she said. I want to make sure the entire staff knows how important they are and that their opinions matter always.
