Recognizing 100 CEOs & C-level Executives

As the president and publisher of Loyola Press, Joellyn Cicciarelli’s tenure has been marked by a commitment to Loyola Press’s mission: helping people of all ages lead purposeful lives in service to others. Since its founding in 1912, Loyola Press has been dedicated to transforming lives through its books, curricula and multimedia products.

Under Cicciarelli’s leadership, the organization has experienced remarkable growth and innovation. Cicciarelli has spearheaded several groundbreaking initiatives, including the launch of 4U2B Books & Media, a trade imprint aimed at empowering families and children. This imprint has already attracted renowned authors such as Angela Santomero, Kimberly Snyder and Megan Alexander, expanding Loyola Press’s reach into the trade publishing market.

Additionally, Cicciarelli oversaw the creation of English Skills in Action, a first- through sixth-grade curriculum aimed at helping English language learners achieve fluency. Launched in September 2024, this program exemplifies Loyola Press’s dedication to serving marginalized communities, particularly immigrant children navigating the U.S. education system.

“It’s no secret that knowing how to speak, listen, read, and write proficiently in English is critical for academic and professional success in the U.S.,” said Cicciarelli. “In addition, with the pervasive unrest in the world today, the U.S. continues to be a prime destination for those from abroad, including families with children, who seek a better life.”

A hallmark of Cicciarelli’s leadership is her focus on fostering growth within her team. In 2024, she implemented a leadership retreat for Loyola Press’s executive team, resulting in six guiding principles that have enhanced communication and collaboration. “We embrace our differences; we ask courageous questions; we invite others in; we advocate for ourselves and others; we support final decisions and we are always curious,” she said.

Cicciarelli’s vision for Loyola Press includes embracing cutting-edge technology while maintaining the organization’s core values. With careful consideration of legal and ethical implications, the company is exploring the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for tasks such as market analysis, content development and operational efficiencies.

Cicciarelli’s contributions extend beyond Loyola Press. She serves on the board of Christ the King Jesuit College Preparatory High School, advocating for underprivileged students and securing professional opportunities through its corporate work study program.

Recognition as a Titan of Industry has been both affirming and energizing for Cicciarelli, a two-time Titan 100. “The recognition from Titan 100 lets me know that I am doing enough—and this honor helps me maintain the energy and drive to keep going, especially on those rare bad days,” she said.
