Luis Puig’s journey in the construction industry began early, inspired by his father, Luis Puig Sr., who fled communist Cuba in 1956 in search of the American dream. Starting as a masonry contractor in Chicago’s Humboldt Park, Luis Sr. laid the foundation for what would become ALL Construction Group.
His dedication to excellence and resilience left an indelible mark on his son, who took on increasingly senior roles after earning a B.S. in construction engineering from Bradley University in 1986. In 2015, Luis Puig ascended to the presidency of the company.
With over 65 years of expertise, ALL Construction Group has become a leader in the construction industry, specializing in general contracting, construction management and design-build services. At its core, ALL Construction Group has a mission to deliver quality, safety and customer satisfaction while creating meaningful impacts in the communities it serves.
“My passion for the business is fueled by the impact we create—not just through the projects we deliver, but by empowering people and communities,” said Puig. “To reignite that passion, I constantly remind myself of the bigger picture: how our work improves lives, builds infrastructure and creates opportunities for underrepresented groups.”
Under Puig’s leadership, ALL Construction Group has evolved into a fully integrated general contracting firm, generating over $80 million in annual revenue. The company has diversified into affordable housing and real estate development, tackling critical housing challenges while expanding its client base. Luis’ focus on innovation—embracing sustainable building practices and cutting-edge construction technologies—has enhanced project efficiency and minimized environmental impact.
Puig’s influence extends beyond the company. He holds key roles on the boards of industry organizations such as the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the International Masonry Institute. His advocacy for diversity and inclusion and his commitment to fostering collaboration between labor and management have earned him respect as a visionary leader. His company has also garnered numerous accolades, including 20 excellence in masonry awards and the prestigious Jackie Robinson most valuable diverse business partner award from the Chicago Cubs in 2016.
As a leader, Puig said leading by example is how he shares his enthusiasm. “Sharing my enthusiasm comes naturally through leading by example, being transparent about both the challenges and rewards and celebrating wins—no matter how big or small,” he said. “I also make sure to foster a culture of collaboration where every voice matters. When people feel included, supported, and connected to a larger purpose, their enthusiasm naturally grows, and the whole team becomes more engaged.”
