In the past, Kristen Falkner, the chief executive officer of Server Products Inc., said that she tended to overemphasize the need to “look down and into” the business which may have led to missing broader trends, stifling innovation and losing sight of the big picture. “One of the key leadership lessons I am currently learning and applying is the importance of balancing both strategic vision and operational focus,” she said. “Embracing the concept of ‘looking up and out’ allows me to anticipate future opportunities, innovate, and build valuable external relationships, setting a clear direction for long-term growth.”
As a leading food and beverage technology company, Server Products Inc., has a mission to design innovative solutions that streamline everyday challenges, empowering foodservice operations to deliver exceptional quality with greater ease and efficiency.
Under Falkner’s leadership, 2023 was a record-breaking year for the company with unprecedented revenue and net income levels, the highest number of products developed in a single year, and a 6.4% increase in shareholder equity.
“Our growth rate outpaced the industry average by twofold, among other significant achievements,” said Falkner. “We have strengthened our core competencies, giving us a competitive edge in the market.”
Falkner also led improvements in innovation, leading industry change, attracting top talent, adapting to changes, communicating effectively, and enhancing brand recognition, among other areas. One achievement was the formalization of strategies for mentorship programs or training initiatives aimed at preparing future owners to understand their potential roles within the business, cultivate stewardship skills and become effective owners.
The firm was also active in the community by supporting local nonprofits such as Upstart Kitchen, JobWorks MKE, Kinship, Casa Guadalupe, Family Promise and NAMI of Washington County.
“Businesses have a responsibility to not only generate profit but also to contribute positively to the society in which we operate,” she said. “By making meaningful contributions to our surrounding communities, we can create a better world for everyone while also securing our own long-term success.”
Being recognized as a two-time Titan 100 symbolizes Falkner’s dedication to excellence and the distinguished reputation she has built within her industry. “I see this recognition not as a personal achievement, but as a reflection of the core values of integrity, perseverance, and faith that guide me,” she said. “It embodies my faith in action, shaping my journey and enabling me to make a positive contribution to both my industry and community.”
