Mike Rotondo knows a thing or two about leading a nationwide brand. The new CEO of Altitude Trampoline Parks — a leading national family entertainment franchise — arrives at the position having formerly held CEO roles at both Edible Arrangements and Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Rotondo distills his knack for leadership to five failproof steps: “Make sure you have smarter people than you at the table, let data tell the story, create a plan of attack, gain alignment with the team, and execute with excellence,” he said.
Since coming on board as CEO with Altitude Trampoline Parks in 2019, Rotondo has completely rebranded the company, helping develop a new, refreshed logo, look and feel for the company’s 300+ locations nationwide. Rotondo also helped Altitude develop its new Endless Jumps program, a first-of-its-kind membership tier meant to provide a cost-effective, flexible way for families to continue engaging with the company’s brand. Already the program has 100,000 participants, with continued growth expected as additional locations launch the new option.
Under Rotondo’s helm, Altitude has developed a new, more flexible trampoline park prototype called Basecamp that can be tailored to fit the needs of both large and small business sectors. Adoption of the Basecamp approach — which also features updated attractions designed to improve facility flow-through — has enabled Altitude to expand its footprint to a wider variety of markets in the last three years.
In the year ahead, Rotondo and his team anticipate other new upgrades meant to amp up the fun for their Altitude Trampoline guests. “We will be rolling out additional updates to park attractions, incorporating more augmented, virtual and extended reality experiences that allow our guests to enjoy something new each time,” Rotondo said. Though their company may be all about deliveringfun for families, Rotondo takes bringing out the best in his team members seriously.
“It is my ambition as CEO to lead my team to achieve the things they never thought they could, creating an environment that is communicative, caring and consequential,” he said. “To be a better leader, I consistently work to create and maintain a motivational atmosphere for my team, while still holding them accountable to key performance indicators and standards that keep our company on the path of success.”
