Jon Greenberg

President

Milwaukee Admirals

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Industry: Professional Sports & Entertainment

While attending Marquette High School, Jon Greenberg embraced the Jesuit tradition and motto that read: Men For Others. “It’s something that I have really embraced not only professionally but personally,” said Greenberg. “I want the best for my staff. They are family to me, and I want to celebrate their accomplishments whether personal or professional whenever they happen.”

As the president of Milwaukee Admirals, Greenberg has seen success with this motto guiding him. “There is no job that I won’t help with, unless my involvement will really mess things up,” he said. “I hope that example rubs off on the rest of my staff.”

The Milwaukee Admirals are the American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Nashville Predators. Greenberg said he loves the ever-changing landscape of the industry. “One of the beautiful things about working in sports is that no two days look the same,” he said. “Every day I remember that I work in sports and entertainment for a living, and I have been fortunate to do that for nearly 40 years.”

In his 19th season with the Milwaukee Admirals, Greenberg oversees the day-to-day business operations of the team, including the marketing, advertising, communications and ticket sales. Under his leadership, the team has attracted more than 3 million fans to enjoy Admirals hockey and entertainment. His efforts landed him the American Hockey League’s James C. Hendy Memorial Award twice.

According to his colleagues, “Jon is a tremendous leader for our organization and has guided the Admirals to record high revenues in almost every category, including ticket sales, sponsorships and merchandise.”

However, what sets Greenberg apart is that he fosters a unique atmosphere where employees are treated like family. “We spend a lot of time together and in order for us to be successful, we rely on each other to work in an all-hands-on deck atmosphere,” said Greenberg.

Especially during the COVID pandemic, an all-hands-on deck approach was a necessity, said Greenberg. “It was critical during the 2020-2021 season that I pay particular attention to the mental health of our employees,” he said. “We were all in uncharted waters and keeping everyone energized and engaged was critical to our success.”

Professional sports are not like any other business, Greenberg said, but it’s an industry that provides a unique journey and a rewarding one. “I work in a city that is known for hard working, fun-loving, genuine people who care for their community,” said Greenberg.

For his commitment to embracing genuine leadership, Greenberg has been named a Titan.
